By any measure, this news should be met with approval from every last American citizen, even if you’re no fan of Trump, because of all the pain and death Iran has inflicted on our country for decades. They’ve been the No. 1 exporter of terrorism for years, exported weapons to Iraq that killed U.S. troops, and are loathed by most, if not all, regional neighbors.

But of course, it’s 2026, and Trump Derangement Syndrome is not only a real thing, but it’s spreading and getting worse among Democrats.

With that said, it should come as no surprise that Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, she who reportedly married her brother to scam our immigration system to get him citizenship, was one of the first Democrats to rail against the strike. Because ‘muh Muslim brothers’ or some such.

Never mind that the vast majority of Iranians are not Muslim, won’t ever become Muslims, and probably have the same kind of issues with Muslims the rest of the world does.

Omar fired off a mouthy, and wholly inaccurate, tweet that earned her a big fat Community Note on X:

Iraq was attacked by the US during Ramadan and it sickening to know that the US is again going to attack Iran during Ramadan. The US apparently loves to strike Muslim countries during Ramadan and I am convinced it isn’t what these countries have done to violate international law but about who they worship.

The Iraq invasion began on March 20, 2003 and major combat operations were declared over on May 1, months before Ramadan that year. Surveys also show that in Iran only about 37% of the population identifies as Muslim, while nearly half describe themselves as non-religious.
